Good morning, let’s get into it!

This article is a more casual post than the others. I have been thinking of reducing the article release date to posting 4 times a week. Perhaps I can post till Thursday so that the whole weekend I can fully examine the article’s performance. But it will start next week.

As we all know, the Athletic Relay 2026 has less than 24 hours to begin. This two-day event will take place in Africa for the first time (The Voice Newspaper, 2026). Not only that, it is the first time in history for the competition to have natural diamonds on the medals (World Athletics, 2026). You know, natural diamonds aren’t man-made or cheap; they are naturally made and have been around for millions of years.

Already, we are seeing an influx of athletes from all over the world coming to the country for the event. This may be a sign that there is growing interest in sports in Botswana; perhaps the government should make sports mandatory for all levels of education, emphasize the importance of sports in Botswana, and perhaps even increase media coverage of sports in Botswana. And I am not just talking about Athletics, I include other sports like Tennis, Karate, swimming, fencing, hockey, netball, football, volleyball, etc. Perhaps these sports need attention too, so that young people in the country can know that they can have livelihoods through these sports.

So perhaps you’ll be attending, or not, but however you choose to, make sure you support out country in making this history. Enjoy the holiday.
