On January 21, 2025, Letshego Africa Holdings Limited announced the resignation of Aupa Monyatsi, the first Motswana Group Chief Executive. Mr. Monyatsi, who has played a transformative role in leading the organization, will officially step down on April 14, 2025, after serving a three-month notice period. During his tenure, he spearheaded the Group’s 5-year strategic roadmap, focusing on digitalization and operational efficiency, which resulted in innovative financial solutions such as microinsurance, affordable housing products, and solar financing.
Regional and Local Achievements Under Monyatsi’s Leadership
Under Mr. Monyatsi's leadership, Letshego's regional operations flourished, including the unification of Tanzania's operations and significant accolades such as Nigeria’s AFAWA Award and Uganda’s Best Digital Bank Award. Locally, his strategic partnerships with Morupule Coal Mine and mobile operators like Mascom and BTC enhanced financial accessibility for small businesses and underserved communities

As Letshego begins its search for a new Group Chief Executive, Deputy Chairman Chris Mokgware assured stakeholders that the company remains committed to its vision of becoming a leading inclusive finance brand. Stakeholders have been advised to exercise caution when trading shares during the closed period, ahead of the Group’s Annual Results announcement by March 31, 2025
