HB, a global leader in diamond innovation, has announced a transformative 137 million Pula investment to expand its processing capacity in Botswana. This move positions the country as a leading diamond innovation hub on the African continent.
The investment brings state-of-the-art technology and advanced machinery to HB Botswana, creating hundreds of skilled jobs while enhancing the nation's reputation in the diamond sector. Key upgrades include:
Diamond Polishing Robots for faster, high-quality processing.
Advanced Grading Tools for precision and quality control.
Cutting-Edge Bruting Machines to maximize yield and efficiency.
High-Tech Lasers for enhanced cutting accuracy.
According to Omogolo Mathumo, HB Botswana’s Communication Manager, this initiative aligns with their mission of empowering Batswana through technology and talent development. “This investment not only generates jobs but provides skills that will have a lasting impact on Botswana’s economy,” she stated.
In total, HB has invested 315 million Pula in Botswana over the past 18 months. This strategic commitment strengthens Botswana’s economy, fosters local talent, and ensures its diamond industry remains powered "In Botswana, By Batswana."
