How to get rewarded- pressed down, shaken together, running over

This thing you need to being the richest person in your generation

Give, and it will be given to you. A good measure, pressed down, shaken together and running over, will be poured into your lap. For with the measure you use, it will be measured to you.”- Luke 6:38 [NIV]

Hello, there’s this soft skill that is important in life mostly in investing. Honestly calling it a skill is an understatement for it, perhaps I should call it a spirit or a mindset. And that spirit or mindset is being a patient giver. Not just a giver, but a patient one who looks forward to a reward.

One thing I love about tech companies like Facebook, Google, Canva, YouTube is they are patient givers. Their way of doing this is by continually giving their users value by giving them useful tools and a platform that will help them. In other words these businesses add value to the lives of their users before their users spend a single cent on them.

After patiently allowing you to use their products and tools they make you pay them for better reach and premium results for your business in return. And this type of giving is a long game that requires a lot of delayed gratification on their part before they can start charging and making money.

Let me give you example

Facebook

If you open a page on the platform it gives you reels and the ability to reach people organically without spending a single cent, your page can go viral and have thousands of followers who like your free organic content. But then you can still advertise with them which is still cheaper compared to if you were to advertise on radio or tv and then see the metrics of how your ads are doing. That is giving value, giving before you receive.

Google

This one comes from my personal experience with the company, as you all know we use Google for a lot of things, searching up companies, the weather, YouTube, Gmail. And for me i have been using Google since 2016 for emails, but I never paid a cent to them until early 2023, because that’s when I started paying for space to use for the videos I edited, 100GB space.[Basic for everyone is 15GB] I paid $1.99 every month, now is $2.99 for 200GB. It took 7 years for me to start paying Google. They played the long game of constantly giving to me until I became a paying client.

Grammarly

Now I remember when I started seeing Grammarly ads in 2017 back in my UB days, I found it absurd that why would someone come up with a company that corrected my spelling errors and all, don’t I have Microsoft word? But little did I know that 6 years later in 2023 I would start using their product, even right now as a type this newsletter, I have a Grammarly extension in my Chrome and Firefox search engines that fixes my sentence and spelling errors. It’s possible that in the near future with my content creation strategy I might subscribe to premium.

Canva

This is my last example, Canva is one of the best examples out there, not only do they give you 14 days free trial to use the full pro versions, they can actually extend it for 15 more days, and to be honest the way they give you it makes you feel guilty for using such premium tools for free, it almost feels like you owe them a favor and eventually subscribe. They play the long game of giving patiently and they get rewarded pressed down, shaken together, overflowing with profits.

And to move on from companies, do you know who the biggest individual YouTuber is? Jimmy Donaldson or popular known as Mr Beast, you know why? Because Mr Beast is the biggest giver on YouTube, went from giving 20k to random homeless people, to giving lambos’, Teslas, food, houses to building wells in Africa, giving people houses and giving 100 people free eye operations. Mr Beast is the biggest giver and also the biggest YouTuber including the richest YouTuber making $80 million in 2023.

There’s just something special that happens when you become a giver, when a company has a give first before receiving mentality or the company is a “I will outgive my customers” mentality that makes them stay on top of everything that happens.

The most generous are the wealthiest in this world. If you want to be wealthy you have to learn that giving continually offering value more than you take over a long period of time is the way to great wealth as it kills your desire for quick riches, and rich schemes through delayed gratification.

That’s when you learn how to play the long game, invest in the long game of life because it’s not a race but a marathon, that’s when you learn how to invest a little money over decades and end up with millions in investments because you are blessed with the gift of foresight.
