S&P 500, FTSE 100 ETFs TO BE OFFERED BY BOTSWANA STOCK EXCHANGE FOR BATSWANA TO BUY INTO INTERNATIONAL MARKETS

Botswana Stock Exchange held a Zoom webinar on the 19 March 2024 A.M session announcing that they will be listing 11 new exchange-traded funds this year 2024, which include S&P 500, FTSE 100, and many other international assets such as Japan Index ETF, Eurostoxx 50 ETF etc.

S&P 500 or the Standard and Poor’s 500, is a stock market index tracking the stock performance of 500 companies in the United States. It has a market capitalization of $42.0 trillion dollars as of December 31, 2023.

It includes companies such as

-Microsoft

-Alphabet Google

-Apple

-Facebook Meta

-Invidia

-Netflix

-Tesla

Why this is important?

The S&P 500 has been the most consistent market since its inception in 1957, growing and making a lot of middle-income families in the US millionaires, with its excellent track record that has generated wealth for many.
